While Live 18 wasn’t the best introduction for the women of basketball, NBA Live 19’s “The One” brought the men and women together in classic streetball, one of the greatest features to date. Live took a big step in inviting the WNBA into the fold, something 2K have to be kicking themselves over these last few years. And yes, 2K Sports is aware, ultimately showing signs of procrastination from both studios, playing a classic game of poker. Don’t Count Live Out Yetįive years and four games later NBA Live 19 has brought the franchise back to the frontline and very close to giving 2K a run for its money. NBA Live 14 is the prime example to this as the trailer revealed amazing footage of Kyrie Irving going for a buzzer beater, only to see the final product resemble what could be found on a local arcade machine (wherever they may exist). Screenshots honestly mean nothing anymore, gameplay is what matters. That in mind, graphics are everything, and content creators don’t hesitate to share a side by side comparison of Live and 2K. We’re well in the 4 th generation of the Sony PlayStation and have a 4K Xbox that can push content as much as possible. And if you ask anyone who wins, 9/10 times it’ll be 2K. NBA Live continues to deliver a fun experience but it focuses more on an arcade simulation which separates the two games into leagues of their own. Then there’s the insane mechanics and authenticity that’s improved upon each year. No one can doubt the creative minds at 2K Sports, with a solid career mode year over year and the innovative neighborhood that brings the community together better than any other sports game. You must question at this point can NBA Live catch a break. And while it goes as far back as the actual Dev Team jumping ship to 2K, we’ll stay current. The biggest argument at the moment is the fact that 2K Sports has year over year taken ideas from what NBA Live has implemented, and to an extent, it’s true. If not gameplay, a teaser trailer would’ve surfaced. While NBA 2K is getting a ton of heat for the questionable gambling practices involved in the neighborhood as well as simply upgrading your player’s overall, moves and so forth, NBA 2K would still by now would have mentioned or shared something. So, what’s really going on? NBA 2K20 is Coming… but press, enthusiast and EA Game Changers would at least get a sneak peek at EA Play. And as for NBA Live, there’s never big news shared during the E3 presentations.
